Overview
South Dakota Mines offers a wide variety of academic and administrative software available for installation on campus devices. Some of these software packages offer a campus-wide standalone license, some have a network license that requires being connected to the SD Mines on-campus network or VPN, and some require purchasing additional licenses.
ITS will be happy to assist in installing or configuring software, and if need be, helping purchase new software or licenses.

Target Completion Date
Depending on the size of the software package, installations can be completed same business day.

South Dakota Mines students, staff and faculty for academic and business purposes only.
Cost
Most campus software is available at no charge to the individual. Programs like Adobe Professional, and specialized research programs will require purchasing a licensing seat.
Policies
- The SD Mines Student Laptop Program provides students with access to academic engineering software needed for Mines classes.
- Some software licensing terms limit campus software to installation only on campus-owned devices. Please go to the Mines Campus Software page for further details.
- Some software packages require connecting to the sdsmtwpa WiFi network or the campus VPN.
- ITS can only offer limited troubleshooting and installation on personal devices.
