How to install network printers (Windows)

Introduction

Steps to connect to a campus network printer on a Windows system.

Environment

Windows 8/10/11

Instructions

  1. Ensure you are connected to the campus secure network through sdsmtwpa, a wired campus connection, or VPN (Students or Faculty/Staff).

  2. Press the Windows start menu.

  3. Start typing the address \\coyote.sdsmt.local and press enter.

  4. When the credential box appears, log in with your email address and campus computer password.

  5. In the printer list that appears, select the desired printer and double-click it.

  6. If you have permission to use this particular printer it will automatically install the printer and drivers.

NOTE: This process installs all the printer drivers so it will take some time to complete
