How to remove an old device from your account and add access to a new one

Introduction


This guide will help you with both adding and removing your digital ID from your phone through the Transact eAccounts app, allowing your phone to act as the passkey for rooms and buildings on campus.

Your account is restricted to one primary device attached to it at a time. Due to this, you will have to remove access for a previous device before being able to add a new one. This can be done by removing access to your account over the internet or from your old phone.

Instructions


Removing an Old Device Through Transact Online Portal

1. Go to experience.sdsmt.edu 

2. Click on "View all cards" in the top right of the screen

3. In the search bar on the top left of the screen, search for "housing"

4. On the housing card, click on Grubby ID (you might need to scroll down)

5. Under the heading "ID Services" click on "deposit grubby gold online" (It will take a long time to load this page) 

Don't Click on "Deactivate Former Mobile ID" as it will lead you right back to this guide.

6. Click on "proceed"

7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Deactivate Card" under "Card services"

8. Select the device you want to deactivate and click 'Deactivate'

 

Removing Access Through Old Device

1. Open eAccounts app 

2. Select more information

3. Select Remove campus ID from wallet

The changes might not take full effect for up to 2 hours.  

If you still can't gain access after waiting those 2 hours, please email Residence Life and they will help you with your digital ID issues.
