How to forward @MINES email to another account

Body

Introduction

Gmail lets you automatically forward incoming mail to another address if you'd like. Here's how to forward messages automatically.

Environment

An internet-connected device with a web browser (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari)

Instructions

  1. Sign in to Gmail.
  2. Click on the gear icon  in the top right corner to access your settings.

You may have the additional step of further having to select 'See all settings' as seen in the picture below.

  3. Select the 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP' tab.

  4. Click on 'Add a forwarding address' and enter the email address to which you'd like your messages forwarded.
  5. You will be asked to verify the forwarding address by entering the confirmation code.
  6. Once verified, you can select the action you'd like your messages to take from the drop-down menu. You can choose to keep Gmail's copy of the message in your inbox, or you can send it automatically to All Mail or Trash.

  7. Click Save Changes.

You also can set up filters to forward messages that meet specific criteria. You can create 20 filters that forward to other addresses. You can maximize your filtered forwarding by combining filters that send to the same address.

Note: Once you are no longer a student, your email address for important documents should be updated as your @mines account will be deleted and forwarded messages will fail to reach you.
