Student Laptop Specifications

South Dakota Mines student laptops are designed to run various campus scientific and engineering software.  Every year, ITS purchases a different model of computer.  Which computer you are assigned will depend on availability and the lease life of the machine.  Every student laptop is on a four-year tax-exempt lease and will be the school's property until the lease expires.  When a student's computer has reached the end of its lease, the student will be notified of their eligibility for an upgrade.

Campus-leased computers allow South Dakota Mines students to install the wide range of expensive scientific and engineering software needed during their educational experience.  Unfortunately, many software packages cannot be installed on personal devices.

Below are the specifications of our current student laptops.
